You are invited to share your words and experiences in Coven.

Coven is an exhibition of words, poetry and stories about having lived experience of sexual harassment, assault or abuse. We want Coven to be a place where we can come together and witness each other.

You are invited to share your words in any format that you like:

  • a poem that you’ve crafted

  • a short story

  • a piece of nonfiction writing

Please share your writing by 5PM Wednesday 19th January, to guarantee it’s included in the physical exhibition.

To share your words you do not need to:

  • Give us your name. But we’ll always credit people who do want their name next to their work

  • Consider yourself a writer or poet, or have ever written before

  • Identify with the words ‘sexual harassment, assault or abuse’. These exact words may not fit your experience, but you may still want to write on this theme

We’ll show your words in an exhibition

We’re commissioning a visual artist to decide how the exhibition looks and feels based on the words people share.

When: 21st January 10:00 - 20:30 and 22nd January 10:00 - 18:30

Where: The Station, Bristol

Admission: Free for members of the public to attend

Here’s some more information on coming to see the exhibition. You can contact us with questions, or instruct us to remove your words, at

We might take this exhibition on tour

Our goal is to share these words and experiences in lots of different places, over a long period of time. If COVID makes this impossible we might create an online version of the exhibition.

We will contact you to ask for consent to continue exhibiting your work if we do present it in a different place or online.

Coven is running in association with Séance; a sound installation about coming to terms with a sexual assault. Find out more about Seance here.
